Challenge
Emsleys is one of Leeds’ most established and well respected solicitors and estate agents and they appointed us to design and develop their new online presence.
The Emsleys business comprises two core specialisms; estate agency and legal services. They wanted a site which clearly presented these areas of their business as separate entities, whilst still communicating that they live under the wider Emsleys umbrella.
Solution
To ensure the site was visually engaging and it clearly signposted users to the key areas of content, each section was assigned its own colour.
Each section also features a number of interactive tools — as well as in-depth supporting content. People looking to buy, sell or let a property can carry out searches to see where properties are located using an interactive map search feature. This helps them find the right property in the right area.
And those seeking legal advice can find a wealth of information and guidance within the legal services area, which features an interactive personal injury calculator tool that gives them an idea as to the amount of compensation that may be available for a range of different injuries.
Slightly different language was also adopted across each core area of the site. For example, within the family law section we emphasised the approachable and sympathetic nature of the service users will receive when dealing with emotive issues; very different to the tone used across the estate agency section.
Results
The bold visual design of the site and the presentation of the information make the Emsleys site truly unique in what is a very competitive marketplace.
Andrew Greenwood, Partner at Emsleys, is delighted with the new site: “We wanted a website that would successfully portray us as a young, dynamic and forward–thinking company who are friendly and approachable. We also wanted the site to effectively cross–sell our different areas of expertise, as well as really set us apart from our competitors.
The new site certainly meets all of these requirements, and from feedback we’ve received from colleagues, customers and competitors, it’s clear that the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”
