Dec 15 – AWA strike gold for the second time

Back in May, we were delighted to pick up a gong at the IDM Business Performance Awards, for our campaign for Republic.

Six months on and the same campaign has scooped Gold in the Best Online Display Advertising category at the 2009 DMA Awards.

According to the DMA: “Work that wins a DMA Award has also won customers. That’s what makes the DMAs stand apart from other awards.”

Which sounds good to us.

Up against Mercedes-Benz and the WWF (pandas, not wrestlers), our Republic campaign was recognised for delivering high sales volumes at a low cost per acquisition.

The category judge praised: “A really simple, really engaging way of playing with banner advertising. The concept was clever in the way that it brought the viewer closer to the clothing range, a technique far more effective than simply presenting models in their gear.”

Christina Marks, Managing Director of AWA, added: “These are prestigious national awards for a piece of work that we’re really proud of. We’re delighted to be recognised, not only for our ability to devise great creative ideas, but also to execute them effectively and deliver business results for our clients.”
